Beautiful Faces

Lanu hails from New Zealand (now residing in Melbourne) and has a history of producing. He has a jazz/funk approach and while I haven’t heard of him before the depth backing his sound demands recognition.

The original version of Beautiful Trash doesn’t strike me quite the way I would like it to. Megan Washington sings for this single and while this may be the unpopular view, I find Washington just a bit bland. The song certainly has potential though and it’s drawn out by the Hidden Orchestra remix, which adds a bit of spice and ambience.

Lanu’s album, Her 12 Faces, is released digitally on 12 February.
